The Board of Directors adopted several mandatory MLS policy changes from N.A.R. A summary of the changes that will go into effect on March 1st are included below. The 2022 Policy Change FAQ can help you understand these rules.
The changes to the rules relate to:
- offering brokers a back office data feed (section 11.15)
- display of offers of compensation on consumer facing websites (section 11.16)
- a prohibition of advertising services as free (section 12.10)
- a prohibition on filtering IDX and VOW displays based on the amount of compensation offered, or by the brokerage or agent (section 12.14)
Two additional policy changes; providing a single data feed for MLS Participants and inclusion of contact information for listing attribution on IDX and VOW feeds, were also approved. Implementation on these changes was extended until September 1st. We are waiting on further clarification from NAR on how they will be implemented.
