The SANTA BARBARA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® ("SBAOR" or "We") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you interact with SBAOR, whether through visiting our website at www.sbaor.org (our "Website"), through your membership in SBAOR, or any other way you may interact with SBAOR. If you are a SBAOR member you must agree to this policy as a condition of your membership. If you are not a SBAOR member and you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our Website or otherwise interact with our services or products. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of our products and services, including the Website, after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

We collect several types of information from and about our members and other users of our products and services, including all visitors to our Website irrespective of their membership in SBAOR. The types of information we collect include information:

  • From SBAOR members, information relating to your membership in SBAOR, such as your California DRE license number, your National REALTOR® Database System (“NRDS”) number, your office address, and your supervising broker’s information (if applicable), as well as information about your use of our services and interactions with us or our affiliates, such as dues payments, donations to affiliated charities and PACs, and customer service or other telephone contacts;
  • Relating to your real estate transaction(s), including personal information relating to your real estate clients;
  • That is about you or related to you but does not individually identify you; and/or
  • About your internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Website, and usage details.

We collect this information:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us, such as when you register for a webinar or purchase products directly from us;
  • From other SBAOR members when they interact with us, such as from your broker or another team member;
  • From local associations of REALTORS®, multiple listing services, the National Association of REALTORS® (“N.A.R.”), or other state associations of REALTORS®;
  • Automatically as you navigate through our Website. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies;
  • From third parties when you interact with our licensed products and services in their platforms, such as forms data that is shared with us by third parties that have licensed our forms for use in their online platforms

The information we collect on or through your SBAOR membership, your use of our Website, or the use of our other products and services may include:

  • Information that you provide to us as part of your ongoing membership in SBAOR
  • Information that you provide by inputting information to question boxes on our Website. This includes information provided at the time of posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us, register for services such as webinars, and when you report a problem with our Website.
  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses) if you contact us.
  • Information that you provide to us in the course of your interaction with our customer services staff when you call us or access services.

  • As one of the many benefits of membership with SBAOR, we make available on our Web site a searchable database of our members called the "REALTOR® Directory." The directory can be used by the public to locate and contact our members by such characteristics as name, company, or city location. The member information made available through the REALTOR® Directory is intended to contain only the business information of our members. Under no circumstances will we intentionally display or make available on our Web site the personal home addresses or phone numbers of our members. You can choose to opt out of the REALTOR® Directory by following the instructions displayed below in Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information.
  • For use by the members of SBAOR, we make available on our Website the names of members who are serving as directors or committee members of SBAOR
  • For other purposes relating to your SBAOR membership, such as to provide you with notices about your membership, including expiration and renewal notices.
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.
  • To notify you about changes to our Website or any products or services we offer or provide though it.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features on our Website.
  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information.

We do not control third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change some of your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page. SBAOR members who wish to change their membership information should contact us directly at membership@sbaor.com or by calling 805-884-8613.

You may also send us an email to membership@sbaor.com to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

If you delete your User Contributions from the Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other Website users.

Your California Privacy Rights

California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
