I consider serving on committees for the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors a privilege and honor. I wanted to make a positive contribution to the association of realtors from the out-set of my real estate career. I decided that serving on committees of the association was one way to contribute. I am always interested in learning more ways to improve my skill-set, and working on committees has provided me the opportunity to meet, work with, and learn from some of the most talented real estate agents in the association. I believe all real estate agents should keep up to date on the latest best real estate practices in their local area, and working on association committees provide agents with access to pertinent information not only on the local level, but state and the national level. I love workings on committees because it has allowed me the opportunity to establish a friendship and working relationship with the association's staff and I learned to appreciate how much they do for the members (sometimes under difficult circumstances). I love to support the staff.

My service on the committees of the association helps me build the kind of character that is expected of me by my Realtor colleagues and the public as being a Real Estate professional. The SBAOR provides valuable services to board members and to the community at large. We know anything of value comes with a cost, I believe the committees' services help minimize that cost. I have served on numerous committees of the association during my real estate career, and I have been rewarding beyond expectation in so many ways. I have received more than I have given. I recommend to any association member, if you are on the fence about sharing you knowledge and experience with association members, and want continue to learn, get off that fence and join a committee of the SBAOR.
